On the occasion of her late mother Jayne Mansfield’s 90th birthday, Mariska Hargitay remembers her.
On the day when her mother, Jayne Mansfield, would have turned 90, Mariska Hargitay paid tribute to her.
The Law & Order: SVU actress posted a picture of her mother on Instagram and a heartwarming statement.
“Mama, happy birthday. Every day, we strive to love you more,” Hargitay wrote.

Mansfield, born Vera Jayne Palmer on April 19, 1933, rose to fame in the 1950s and 1960s as one of Hollywood’s biggest blonde bombshells. She was viewed as Marilyn Monroe’s counterpart, also known as the “Working Man’s Monroe.”
She was not just a Playboy Playmate but also acted in several movies, including The Sheriff of a Fractured Jaw, Promises! Promises!, and The Girl Can’t Help It.
She tragically died in an automobile accident in 1967, ending her life prematurely. Mansfield was 34.
Three-year-old Hargitay was in the backseat of the automobile with two of her siblings at the time. The children were unharmed, but Mansfield, her friend, attorney Sam Brody, and their driver Ronnie Harrison died immediately.
“I believe I was exposed to crises at a young age and learned nothing is certain. Then we change it, according to Glamour,” she said in 2021. “Having experienced trauma early in life has been a gift for me,” the speaker said.
“I was in that frozen place for a lot of my childhood — of trying to survive, actually trying to survive,” she continued. “Unveiling the layers and learning to trust again has been the process of my life,” the speaker said.
