“From Ice King to Internet Storm?” Ilia Malinin’s Midnight Club Clip With Gracie Gold Sparks Cheating Speculation — But What’s Missing From the Video?

USA figure skating star Ilia Malinin was the talk of the 2026 Winter Olympics, with a lot of hype entering the men’s competition at the Milan Cortina Games. However, despite the Olympics being over, Malinin is still in the headlines for some good old-fashioned gossip.

A viral video began making the rounds on social media that showed Malinin dancing with a blonde woman in the club. Fellow USA star Amber Glenn immediately made it clear that it was not her, but internet sleuths determined it was two-time US champion and 2014 bronze medalist Gracie Gold.

After the video went viral, the X account of Gold’s boyfriend, retired Canadian figure skating star Nam Nguyen, did nothing to shut down the rumors.

Nguyen changed the handle for his account and began retweeting messages that accused Gold of cheating.

“Spicy gossip: the ex-boyfriend of American figure skater Gracie Gold (Nam Nguyen) turned his personal account into a fake profile to claim that Gracie is cheating on him with Ilia Malinin,” a post on X claimed. “The rumors came after a video/photo of Ilia with a woman started circulating.”

Among the messages that were tweeted from Nguyen’s burner account were:

  • “A list figure skater is Ilia Malinin. There is a video of Gracie Gold cheating on her boyfriend by inappropriately dancing on Ilia”
  • “Imagine opening up about all your trauma to someone you’re dating, only for them to hurt and taumatise (sic) you in the exact same way because they knew your weakness.”
  • “That’s Gracie Gold. She cheated on her boyfriend for that”

Bro Bible has more details on the retweeted messages.

After people caught on to Nguyen changing the name of his account and retweeting messages about Gracie Gold, he apologized for his “immature” actions.

“Hi everyone, it’s Nam. I know the last few days have been chaotic. I take full responsibility for everything you’ve seen on X the last few days (my comments and immature reposts), and that video was unfortunate to our relationship,” Nguyen wrote on X.

“What Gracie and I have between us is private, and I broke that bond by not being my best self. I apologize to everyone, mistakes were made, and lessons are learned. If there’s anything to take from this, I ask that you guys please lay off of Gracie. She’s been through enough, and any personal attacks against her are unacceptable.”

What a mess.

Of course, it’s important to note that nothing has been confirmed, and the rumors are pure social media speculation based on a short video clip, but Nguyen’s response added fuel to the fire. We’ll have to wait and see if Malinin or Gold comments on the allegations.
