Jamie Lee Curtis<\/a>\u00a0is preparing to leave the spotlight for good.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with\u00a0The Guardian<\/a>, Curtis detailed what it was like watching her famous parents, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, be \u201crejected\u201d by Hollywood after they reached a \u201ccertain age.\u201d The \u201cHalloween\u201d star said the experience pushed her to begin \u201cself-retiring\u201d early so she could avoid the same fate.<\/p>\n

\u201cI witnessed my parents lose the very thing that gave them their fame and their life and their livelihood, when the industry rejected them at a certain age,\u201d Curtis said. \u201cI watched them reach incredible success and then have it slowly erode to where it was gone. And that\u2019s very painful.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI have been self-retiring for 30 years. I have been prepping to get out, so that I don\u2019t have to suffer the same as my family did. I want to leave the party before I\u2019m no longer invited.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although she\u2019s planning for an early exit, Curtis\u2019 star is still on the rise. She recently appeared alongside original costar Lindsay Lohan in \u201cFreakier Friday,\u201d the sequel to their classic 2003 family comedy. Other cast members include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.<\/p>\n

While talking to\u00a0Variety<\/em>\u00a0at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards, Curtis said Lohan taught her \u201cso much\u201d while filming the Disney sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe has her team, where her two people would be standing on either side of a camera holding a big light,\u201d\u00a0she said<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s Lindsay lighting \u2014 that would have been good branding \u2014 they hold lights so that we look better.
